Máy tính đang thực hiện dở công việc và bạn có chuyện cần phải ra ngoài, nhưng bạn cảm thấy không yên tâm nếu để máy tính tự hoạt động một mình. Shutdown Timer sẽ là trợ thủ đắc lực hỗ trợ bạn trong trường hợp này.

Đôi khi, bạn đang download dữ liệu từ Internet với dung lượng khá lớn, hoặc máy tính đang thực hiện một công việc nào đó… và phải mất một khoảng thời gian khá dài để hoàn thành. Tuy nhiên, bạn không muốn cứ ngồi trước máy tính để chờ cho quá trình này hoàn tất, nhưng cũng không muốn máy tính cứ tiếp tục hoạt động sau khi máy tính đã hoàn thành công việc (hoặc hoàn tất quá trình download).

Shutdown Timer là phần mềm miễn phí, giúp người dùng giải quyết vấn đề trên bằng cách cung cấp các tính năng để hẹn giờ tắt máy tính, dựa vào các điều kiện do người dùng thiết lập.

Download phần mềm tại đây (bao gồm phiên bản dành cho Windows 32-bit và 64-bit).

Sau khi cài đặt, phần mềm không tự tạo shortcut trên desktop, bạn phải tìm và kích hoạt phần mềm trong thư mục Sinsive System từ Start menu của Windows.
 
Mặc dù có tên gọi Shutdown Timer, nhưng phần mềm không chỉ cho phép người dùng hẹn giờ để tắt máy tính, mà còn có thể tùy chọn để khởi động lại hệ thống , tắt màn hình hay đứa máy tính về trạng thái ngủ đông (hibernate), Sleep, hay thậm chí còn cho phép hệ thống tự động kích hoạt một phần mềm nào đó hoặc tự động truy cập vào website ở một thời điểm nhất định…

Bạn có thể chọn thao tác muốn phần mềm tiến hành bằng cách nhấn vào thanh menu từ giao diện của phần mềm. 

Thiết lập điều kiện hoạt động:
Sau khi kích hoạt phần mềm và thiết lập điều kiện để phần mềm tự động thực hiện, trong quá trình sử dụng máy tính, nếu trạng thái của hệ thống thỏa mãn với các điều kiện đã thiết lập, Shutdown Timer sẽ tự động thực hiện trạng thái mà bạn đã chọn (tắt máy, khởi động hệ thống…).

Có 4 loại điều kiện để người dùng thiết lập chế độ hoạt động cho Shutdown Timer, bao gồm: điều kiện thời gian (Time & Date), điều kiện theo thông số hoạt động của CPU (CPU & Memory), điều kiện theo kết nối mạng (Networking) và điều kiện theo thời gian hoạt động của tiến trình (Processes).

Tuy nhiên, điều kiện thời gian và trạng thái hoạt động của bộ nhớ là 2 điều kiện dễ thiết lập và hữu ích nhất, do vậy bài viết dưới đây chỉ hướng dẫn cách thức thiết lập với 2 điều kiện này.

Tự động thực hiện công việc với thời gian định sẵn:

Với chế độ thiết lập này, Shutdown Timer sẽ thực hiện công việc đã định sẵn nếu đến mốc thời gian (theo giờ hoặc theo ngày) mà bạn đã chọn. Để thực hiện điều này, bạn nhấn vào mục Time & Date trên giao diện phần mềm.

Phần mềm cho phép thiết lập theo giờ cụ thể (của tất cả các ngày) hoặc theo giờ cụ thể trên một ngày nhất định. Nhấn nút Enable vào mục thiết lập mà bạn muốn sử dụng. 

Ví dụ, phải mất 50 phút để hoàn tất quá trình download (các phần mềm hỗ trợ download thường hiển thị lượng thời gian bạn cần sử dụng để hoàn tất download file), như vậy, bạn sẽ hẹn giờ để Windows tự động shutdown trong khoảng thời gian 50 phút tới.
 
Để làm điều này, điền khoảng thời gian để Shutdown Timer hoạt động ở mục ‘When the Time is’. Ví dụ, hiện tại là 15 giờ (15:00), và muốn tắt máy tính trong vòng 55 phút tới, bạn sẽ điền 15:55 (giờ cụ thể của hệ thống) vào khung trống.

Ngoài ra, mục ‘Add … minutes to the timer’ để thêm vào một khoảng thời gian dự phòng trước khi Shutdown Timer kích hoạt (đề phòng công việc chưa hoàn tất).

Thiết lập tương tự với mục Date trong trường hợp công việc cần mất nhiều ngày để hoàn tất.
 
Sau khi hoàn tất thiết lập, nhấn nút Active để Shutdown Timer bắt đầu công việc của mình.
 
Thiết lập dựa vào thông số hoạt động của CPU:
 
Trong nhiều trường hợp khi treo máy để tự thực hiện công việc, hệ thống rơi vào tình trạng CPU hoạt động với 100% hiệu suất trong thời gian dài, dẫn đến tình trạng hệ thống ngừng hoạt động, thậm chí, đôi khi nhiệt độ của CPU tăng lên quá cao vì nhiều lý do.
Khi này, nếu không có người dùng can thiệp, tiến hành tắt hệ thống có thể làm ảnh hưởng đến tuổi thọ linh kiện. Rất may, Shutdown Timer cho phép quản lý và tự động tắt máy trong trường hợp này.

Để thiết lập điều kiện tắt máy dựa vào điều kiện trên, bạn chọn mục CPU & Memory.

Tại đây có 3 điều kiện để người dùng thiết lập: 
- CPU Usage: nếu CPU hoạt động với 100% hiệu suất trong khoảng thời gian nhất định, Shutdown Timer sẽ tự động tắt máy (hoặc thực hiện chức năng mà người dùng đã chọn).
 
- CPU Temp: nếu nhiệt độ của CPU đạt mức nhiệt độ (do người dùng thiết lập) trong khoảng thời gian nhất định, thì Shutdown Timer sẽ thực hiện công việc của mình.
 
Lưu ý: + Shutdown Timer sử dụng phần mềm Core Temp như là một plugin kèm theo để đo nhiệt độ của CPU. Do vậy, để sử dụng chức năng nay, bạn cần phải kích hoạt để Core Temp hoạt động song song với Shutdown Timer. Download phần mềm miễn phí tại đây. 

+ Bạn nên thiết lập nhiệt độ ở mức phù hợp với loại CPU mà máy tính đang sử dụng. Tham khảo thêm mức nhiệt độ mà Dân Trí đã từng giới thiệu tại đây.

- Memory Usage: thiết lập điều kiện tùy thuộc vào dung lượng còn trống của bộ nhớ. Tuy nhiên, điều kiện này không thực sự thông dụng nên bạn không cần phải quan tâm.

Cuối cùng, nhấn nút Active để đưa Shutdown Timer về trạng thái hoạt động.

Hẹn giờ tắt máy tự động với Shutdown Timer

Shutdown Timer là phần mềm miễn phí, giúp người dùng giải quyết vấn đề trên bằng cách cung cấp các tính năng để hẹn giờ tắt máy tính, dựa vào các điều kiện do người dùng thiết lập.

Sau khi cài đặt, phần mềm không tự tạo shortcut trên desktop, bạn phải tìm và kích hoạt phần mềm trong thư mục Sinsive System từ Start menu của Windows.

Thiết lập điều kiện hoạt động:
Sau khi kích hoạt phần mềm và thiết lập điều kiện để phần mềm tự động thực hiện, trong quá trình sử dụng máy tính, nếu trạng thái của hệ thống thỏa mãn với các điều kiện đã thiết lập, Shutdown Timer sẽ tự động thực hiện trạng thái mà bạn đã chọn (tắt máy, khởi động hệ thống…).

Có 4 loại điều kiện để người dùng thiết lập chế độ hoạt động cho Shutdown Timer, bao gồm: điều kiện thời gian (Time & Date), điều kiện theo thông số hoạt động của CPU (CPU & Memory), điều kiện theo kết nối mạng (Networking) và điều kiện theo thời gian hoạt động của tiến trình (Processes).

Tuy nhiên, điều kiện thời gian và trạng thái hoạt động của bộ nhớ là 2 điều kiện dễ thiết lập và hữu ích nhất, do vậy bài viết dưới đây chỉ hướng dẫn cách thức thiết lập với 2 điều kiện này.

Tự động thực hiện công việc với thời gian định sẵn:

Với chế độ thiết lập này, Shutdown Timer sẽ thực hiện công việc đã định sẵn nếu đến mốc thời gian (theo giờ hoặc theo ngày) mà bạn đã chọn. Để thực hiện điều này, bạn nhấn vào mục Time & Date trên giao diện phần mềm.

Phần mềm cho phép thiết lập theo giờ cụ thể (của tất cả các ngày) hoặc theo giờ cụ thể trên một ngày nhất định. Nhấn nút Enable vào mục thiết lập mà bạn muốn sử dụng. 

Ví dụ, phải mất 50 phút để hoàn tất quá trình download (các phần mềm hỗ trợ download thường hiển thị lượng thời gian bạn cần sử dụng để hoàn tất download file), như vậy, bạn sẽ hẹn giờ để Windows tự động shutdown trong khoảng thời gian 50 phút tới.
 
Để làm điều này, điền khoảng thời gian để Shutdown Timer hoạt động ở mục ‘When the Time is’. Ví dụ, hiện tại là 15 giờ (15:00), và muốn tắt máy tính trong vòng 55 phút tới, bạn sẽ điền 15:55 (giờ cụ thể của hệ thống) vào khung trống.

Để thiết lập điều kiện tắt máy dựa vào điều kiện trên, bạn chọn mục CPU & Memory.

What’s Running - tìm hiểu các tiến trình đang chạy trong máy

Khi làm việc với máy tính, có thể bạn mở một vài ứng dụng nào đó, nhưng bạn có biết có rất nhiều chương trình, ứng dụng, các dịch vụ, trình điều khiển... gọi chung là các tiến trình đang chạy trong máy? Muốn biết các tiến trình này, với hệ điều hành Windows, bạn có thể ấn tổ hợp phím “Ctrl + Alt + Del” để xem, nhưng tiện ích này liệt kê không đầy đủ và thường “bó tay” trước các tiến trình chạy ẩn. Với What’s Running, bạn sẽ biết đầy đủ và chi tiết hơn, đặc biệt bạn có thể tìm hiểu chức năng của từng tiến trình, cũng như nguồn gốc của nó.

       · Cài đặt:

       Kích hoạt tập tin cài đặt, bấm Next, chọn I accept the agreement, bấm tiếp Next-> Next-> Next-> Install->Finish.

       · Chức năng:

       - Process: Liệt kê các tiến trình đang chạy trong máy và tìm tất cả các chi tiết có liên quan đến từng tiến trình. Xem các tiến trình thực thi như thế nào trong máy, chúng sử dụng bao nhiêu tài nguyên (dữ liệu, bộ nhớ, CPU), các dịch vụ hoặc các kết nối IP đi kèm với từng tiến trình.

       - IP-Connections: Tìm thông tin của tất cả các kết nối đang hoạt động trong hệ thống. Cung cấp danh sách các kết nối từ xa của từng tiến trình và tìm ra các ứng dụng đang nhận các kết nối đó.

       - Services: Kiểm tra các dịch vụ nào đang chạy hoặc đã dừng lại. Tìm các tiến trình phục vụ các dịch vụ và hiển thị các thuộc tính của chúng.

       - Modules: Tìm và liệt kê thông tin của tất cả các mô-đun (tập tin dạng *.dll và *.exe) đang chạy trong hệ thống. Chức năng này cho thấy các tiến trình được nạp vào mô-đun như thế nào, cung cấp đường dẫn đi đến các mô-đun.

       - Drivers: Hiển thị tất cả các trình điều khiển đang chạy trong hệ thống. Bạn có thể kiểm tra các thuộc tính của trình điều khiển như: phiên bản tập tin, tên hiển thị, nhà cung cấp, trạng thái, cờ hiệu,v.v...

       - Startup: Quản lý tất cả các chương trình khởi động cùng hệ thống. Phần này cho phép người dùng vô hiệu hóa, sửa, xóa, thêm mới một chương trình trong Startup dễ dàng.

       - System information: Hiển thị các thông tin quan trọng của hệ thống, như bộ nhớ, bộ xử lý, tên hệ điều hành, phiên bản, người đăng ký sử dụng...

       Dù chương trình cung cấp thông tin khá đầy đủ, nhưng nếu bạn muốn tìm hiểu sâu rộng hơn, bạn có thể tiếp cận qua hình thức online. Bạn bấm vào tiến trình cần tìm hiểu, sau đó click vào nút "Check info online" ở góc trên, bên phải để lấy thêm thông tin.

       Do có khả năng cung cấp chi tiết thành phần, thuộc tính của các tiến trình, nên dùng What's Running bạn có thể nhận ra đâu là các chương trình, các ứng dụng, đâu là các mô-đun virus đang chạy, giúp bạn vô hiệu hóa chúng dễ dàng.

Muốn biết các tiến trình này, với hệ điều hành Windows, bạn có thể ấn tổ hợp phím “Ctrl + Alt + Del” để xem, nhưng tiện ích này liệt kê không đầy đủ và thường “bó tay” trước các tiến trình chạy ẩn. Với What’s Running, bạn sẽ biết đầy đủ và chi tiết hơn, đặc biệt bạn có thể tìm hiểu chức năng của từng tiến trình, cũng như nguồn gốc của nó.

       · Cài đặt:

       Kích hoạt tập tin cài đặt, bấm Next, chọn I accept the agreement, bấm tiếp Next-> Next-> Next-> Install->Finish.

       · Chức năng:

       - Process: Liệt kê các tiến trình đang chạy trong máy và tìm tất cả các chi tiết có liên quan đến từng tiến trình. Xem các tiến trình thực thi như thế nào trong máy, chúng sử dụng bao nhiêu tài nguyên (dữ liệu, bộ nhớ, CPU), các dịch vụ hoặc các kết nối IP đi kèm với từng tiến trình.

       - IP-Connections: Tìm thông tin của tất cả các kết nối đang hoạt động trong hệ thống. Cung cấp danh sách các kết nối từ xa của từng tiến trình và tìm ra các ứng dụng đang nhận các kết nối đó.

       - Services: Kiểm tra các dịch vụ nào đang chạy hoặc đã dừng lại. Tìm các tiến trình phục vụ các dịch vụ và hiển thị các thuộc tính của chúng.

       - Modules: Tìm và liệt kê thông tin của tất cả các mô-đun (tập tin dạng *.dll và *.exe) đang chạy trong hệ thống. Chức năng này cho thấy các tiến trình được nạp vào mô-đun như thế nào, cung cấp đường dẫn đi đến các mô-đun.

       - Drivers: Hiển thị tất cả các trình điều khiển đang chạy trong hệ thống. Bạn có thể kiểm tra các thuộc tính của trình điều khiển như: phiên bản tập tin, tên hiển thị, nhà cung cấp, trạng thái, cờ hiệu,v.v...

       - Startup: Quản lý tất cả các chương trình khởi động cùng hệ thống. Phần này cho phép người dùng vô hiệu hóa, sửa, xóa, thêm mới một chương trình trong Startup dễ dàng.

       - System information: Hiển thị các thông tin quan trọng của hệ thống, như bộ nhớ, bộ xử lý, tên hệ điều hành, phiên bản, người đăng ký sử dụng...

       Dù chương trình cung cấp thông tin khá đầy đủ, nhưng nếu bạn muốn tìm hiểu sâu rộng hơn, bạn có thể tiếp cận qua hình thức online. Bạn bấm vào tiến trình cần tìm hiểu, sau đó click vào nút "Check info online" ở góc trên, bên phải để lấy thêm thông tin.

       Do có khả năng cung cấp chi tiết thành phần, thuộc tính của các tiến trình, nên dùng What's Running bạn có thể nhận ra đâu là các chương trình, các ứng dụng, đâu là các mô-đun virus đang chạy, giúp bạn vô hiệu hóa chúng dễ dàng.
